PRODUCT APPLICATION (cont.)
IMPORTANT: It is important to apply the Textured Bond
Coat with the included ¼” nap roller. The ¼” nap roller is
the thinner roller cover with a shorter/more compact nap.
With the other partner following behind, roll the Textured
Bond Coat onto the entire surface using the included ¼
nap roller. Apply enough Textured Bond Coat to coat the
existing tile, but not too heavy, avoiding drips, runs or
sags. Apply the coating using long strokes, working
quickly, but do not roll areas that have started drying.
Apply the Textured Bond Coat row by row, working
vertically and then horizontally. Cover all surfaces and
grout lines thoroughly. Use good lighting when applying
the product to ensure proper coverage. Touch-up as
needed. Use the entire product within 90 minutes of
mixing.
Once the entire area has been coated, inspect the finish
for any drips, imperfections, or uneven texture, including
any missed grout. If there are areas of missed grout, use a
foam brush to dab in. Remove all tape from the tile edges
roughly 4 hours after application. Once it cures it will
become extremely difficult to remove the tape. If the
Textured Bond Coat has cured, score underneath the tape
to make the removal easier.
Protect the Textured Bond Coat from dust and lint by
keeping windows and doors closed and ceiling fans off.
Allow the Textured Bond Coat to dry for 8 hours or
overnight before applying the Natural Stone Finish.
APPLICATION OF THE NATURAL STONE FINISH
Apply when air (ambient) and surface temperature is 60-
85°F (16-29°C) and the relative humidity is below 85%.
The Natural Stone Finish should be applied between 8
and 24 hours following application of the Textured Bond
Coat. Apply the Natural Stone Finish within 90 minutes of
mixing Part A Activator with Part B Base.
Using the 2” painter’s tape, mask off the tile surface the
same way when preparing to apply the Textured Bond
Coat. Prepare the new roller by running hand along the
nap to remove loose fibers. Cover tub or shower areas
with drop cloths. If the area is dim, use extra lighting to
brighten the space to ensure an even application.
PRODUCT APPLICATION (cont.)
IMPORTANT: It is important to apply the Natural Stone
Finish with the included ⅜” nap roller. The ⅜” nap roller is
the thicker roller cover with a longer/fuzzier nap.
Wearing disposable gloves and safety glasses, pour all of
Part A Activator into the Part B Base and thoroughly mix
with a stir stick for a minimum of 2 minutes. Pour one-
fourth the mixture into a clean paint tray and cover the
remaining product. To maximize working time, do not pour
the entire product into the tray. Apply the Natural Stone
Finish working in 1-1½ foot sections from top to bottom,
keeping a wet edge. As with the Textured Bond Coat,
work with a partner, having the first person lightly apply
the Natural Stone Finish using a 2” synthetic paint brush to
the outside edges, 90° degree angles, etc. Be careful not
to work too far ahead of the partner rolling. With the other
partner following behind, apply the Natural Stone Finish on
the tile surface using the included ⅜” nap roller (thicker
roller with longer nap). Be sure to roll over the corners
and edges applied by the first partner. Note: Color may
appear darker in the can due to the bead blend. Finish will
dry clear.
Do not over-saturate the roller. Roll excess product off in
the paint tray before applying. Roll the beaded finish from
top to bottom, then back rolling in a horizontal motion.
Long vertical, horizontal and diagonal strokes will help
spread the Natural Stone Finish evenly across the tile.
Apply only one coat and do not roll over areas that have
started to dry. Avoid drips, runs or sags. Touch-up as
needed. Use the entire product within 90 minutes of
mixing.
To clean up any spills, use rubbing alcohol, acetone or
xylene applied to a rag. Remove all tape from the tile
edges roughly 4 hours after application.
Protect the Natural Stone Finish from dust and lint by
keeping windows and doors closed and ceiling fans off.
Let dry overnight. Shower or tub wall tile areas will be
ready for full use in 24 hours.
Before full use, re-caulk all areas including tub surrounds,
counters, ledges, mirrors, showerheads, etc. Follow
manufacturer’s instructions and allow for proper dry time
before using tub area.
