1. PREPARE: Always work in a well-ventilated area and use a drop cloth to protect from overspray. 
2. PAINT: Shake your can of Stops Rust Metallic for one minute after the mixing ball starts to 
rattle. Then, hold the can 10-16” from the barstool and spray in a steady, sweeping motion over the 
top of the seat and the bottoms of the legs of the stool. Apply one light coat followed by a second 
moderate coat. Let the paint dry completely for 24 hours. 
Once the paint is completely dry, use painter’s tape and masking paper to mask o the seat and 
bottoms of the legs of the barstool. Then, shake your can of Stops Rust Satin thoroughly and apply 
2-3 light coats to the middle section of the barstool.
3. FINISH: Once you’re nished painting, remove the painter’s tape and set the barstool aside to 
dry for 24 hours.
