Stops Rust

Custom Spray 5-in-1 allows you to

choose between 5 different spray patterns for ultimate

control and confidence over your next project. The advanced

Stops Rust formula provides 30% greater corrosion

resistance and color retention compared to original matching

Stops Rust colors with standard tip. Ideal for ferrous, non-

ferrous metal and wood surfaces. Not for use on galvanized

metal.

PRODUCT APPLICATION

SURFACE PREPARATION

Remove all dirt, grease, oil, salt and chemical contaminants

by washing the surface with a commercial detergent, or

other suitable cleaning method. Rinse with fresh water and

allow to thoroughly dry. Remove loose paint and rust with a

wire brush or sandpaper. Previously coated surfaces must

be sound and in good condition. Smooth, hard, or glossy

finishes should be scarified by sanding to create a surface

profile.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint from any

surface, you may release lead paint dust. LEAD IS TOXIC.

EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS

ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE; ESPECIALLY IN

CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID

EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH approved respirator to control

lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and

a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself

and your family by contacting the National Lead Information

Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.

PRIMING

Use of a Stops Rust Primer provides added corrosion

protection, superior adhesion and hiding and is especially

recommended for bare wood and metal.

APPLICATION DRY AND RECOAT TIMES Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area such as an open garage. Use when temperature is between 50-90°F (10-32°C) and humidity is below 65% to ensure proper drying. Do not apply to surfaces that, when heated, exceed 200°F (93°C) or galvanized metal. Avoid spraying in very windy, dusty conditions. Cover surrounding area to protect from spray mist.
