®
Flexible Rubber Coating is an easy to use, rubberized protective
utility coating designed to fill gaps & cracks up to 1/4” and seal out water, air &
moisture. It provides a watertight, weatherproof barrier that also protects the
surface from rust. LeakSeal dries to a semi-smooth, firm finish that will not sag
or drip, and can be top-coated with latex or oil based paints.
Great for: Roofing Materials, Gutters & Downspouts, Skylights, Chimneys,
Awnings, Flashing, PVC Pipes, Windowsills, Duct Work, Vent Pipes, DIY
Projects & More
For Use on: Metal, aluminum, galvanized metal, PVC, concrete, masonry,
asphalt roofing materials, vinyl, fiberglass, and more. Not recommended for
rubber surfaces or surfaces exposed to continuous water immersion.
Important: Read all instructions prior to use. Test in an inconspicuous area.
Painting Conditions: Use outdoors or in a well ventilated area. Do not apply to
wet surfaces. Use when temperature is above 50°F (10°C) and humidity is
below 65% to ensure proper drying. Avoid spraying in windy, dusty conditions.
Surface Prep: Remove dirt and debris from area to be coated. Cover and mask
off areas to avoid overspray if necessary. Lightly sand glossy surfaces.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust.
LEAD IS TOXIC. Contact the National Lead Information Hotline at
1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
Application: Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins to
rattle. Shake often during use. If mixing ball fails to rattle DO NOT STRIKE CAN.
Contact Rust-Oleum. A test spray on cardboard is recommended to obtain feel
for spray pattern. Spray surface in short even strokes. Hold can 8”-18” from
surface. It is recommended to apply a light first coat. The second coat can be
applied heavier. Quicker build-up can be achieved by moving nozzle closer in to
gap. Initial spray may have some foaming/bubbling on the surface, but will
dissipate as coating dries. For best results and depending on gap size, apply at
least 2 coats. Allow to dry 15-30 minutes between coats. Dries to the touch in 2
hours and cures in 24 hours.
Top-Coating: Based on 70°F (21°C) and 50% relative humidity, can be
top-coated with latex-based or oil-based paints after 24 hours. Cooler
temperatures or higher humidity may increase dry times.
Clogging: After use, turn can upside down and press spray nozzle until spray is
clear to prevent clogging. If valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse it
in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not stick a pin or other objects into the
stem.
Clean-Up: Wipe tip off before storing. Clean up wet or dry coating with Xylol or
mineral spirits. Throw away empty can in trash pick-up. Do not burn or place in
home trash compactor.
CONTAINS: LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM GAS, PETROLEUM DISTILLATES, DIMETHYL CARBONATE, AROMATIC
AND ALIPHATIC HYDROCARBONS, ACETATES AND METHYL ISOBUTYL KETONE. Vapor harmful. May affect the
brain or nervous system causing dizziness, headache or nausea. Causes eye, skin, nose and throat irritation. Do not
puncture, strike, or incinerate (burn) container. Exposure to heat or prolonged exposure to sun may cause bursting. Do
not expose to heat or store at temperatures above 120°F (48°C). NOTICE: Reports have associated repeated and
prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Intentional
misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal. Vapors may ignite explosively.
Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Do not smoke. Extinguish all flames and pilot lights and turn off stoves,
heaters, electric motors and other sources of ignition during use and until all vapors are gone. Prevent build-up of
vapors by opening all windows and doors to achieve cross-ventilation. Use only with adequate ventilation. Do not
breathe dust, vapors or spray mist. Ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering,
headache or dizziness or if air monitoring demonstrates vapor/mist levels are above applicable limits, wear an
appropriate, properly fitted respirator (NIOSH approved) during and after application. Follow respirator manufacturer’s
directions for respirator use. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. FIRST AID: If you experience difficulty in
breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately. In
case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention; for skin,
