PREPARATIONWITHRESTOREDECKSTRIPPER

Step1–RemoveexistingStain/Sealer:
Previouslyappliedcoatingsneedtoberemovedfortwoveryimportantreasons;firststainsdonot
adherewelltooneanotherandsecondtheoldfinishwillblockthenewfinishfrompenetratingthe
wood.Iftheoldstainorsealantispeeling,it willpullyournewcoatingupaswell.Thenewtopcoatwill
notlockdownandsealtheoldtopcoat.Evenifyouhavenotrecoatedyourdeckinmanyyearsandit
lookslikethereisnostainorsealantleftonthedeck,youmustcompletethisstep.Previouslyapplied
stainsandsealantsmaybepresentonthedeckandarenotalwaysvisibleandtheywillpreventthenew
topcoatfromproperlyadheringtothewood.

StripthesurfaceusingadeckbrushandtheRestoreDeckStripper.Applythedeckstrippertothedeck
andscrubitintothewoodwithadeckbrush.Letitsitfor15minutes,thenpowerwashitoff
completely.FollowalloftheinstructiononthebackoftheRestoreDeckStripperlabelbefore
