Painting Conditions: Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area such as an open garage. Use when
temperature is between 50°F and 90°F (10°-32°C) and humidity is below 65% to ensure proper
drying. Do not apply to surfaces that, when heated, exceed 200°F (93°C) or galvanized metal. Avoid
spraying in very windy, dusty conditions. Cover surrounding area to protect from spray mist.
Preparation: Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper. Lightly sand glossy surfaces.
Clean with soap and water, rinse and let dry. WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may
release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. Contact the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or
log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
Painting: Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to
rattle, DO NOT STRIKE CAN. Contact Rust-Oleum. Prior to use, slide off the red safety clip from the
trigger. Shake often during use. Test paint in an inconspicuous area first to ensure desired results. For
best results, lay object horizontally on a flat surface . Hold can upright 8-12 inches from surface. Using
a steady back-and-forth motion, apply one heavy, even coat at moderate speed, spraying continuously
over the object
.
Dry & Recoat Times: based on 70°F- 50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures.
Dries to touch in 30 minutes, to handle in 1 hour and fully dry in 24 hours. Apply a second coat 30
minutes to 2 hours after applying first coat or after 7 days of applying first coat.
Clean-up: When finished spraying, wipe off tip before storing. Clean up wet paint with Xylol or mineral
spirits. Dispose of empty can in recycle pickup. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor.

air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headache or dizziness, wear an
appropriate, properly fitted respirator (NIOSH approved) or leave the area to obtain fresh air. Avoid contact
with eyes, skin and clothing. First Aid: If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh
air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical attention immediately. In case of eye contact, flush
immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention; for skin, wash thoroughly
