DESCRIPTION AND USES .
EpoxyShield
®
Concrete Resurfacer is a two-component
water-based cementitious coating designed to restore
aged, spalled, patched, and cracked concrete surfaces
that are in good sound condition and free of curing agents
and sealers. It is ideal for use on garages, driveways,
basements, porches, patios, and walkways. It is not
intended for use on asphalt, previous coatings, or floors
that have a moisture problem. This product will fill in small
cracks and spalled areas, but is not intended to be a
substitute for EpoxyShield Patch and Repair.

EpoxyShield Heavy-Duty Degreaser or a suitable
detergent. Thoroughly rinse the concrete surface. If
necessary, use a wire brush to remove any loose or
unsound concrete or masonry.
.PRODUCT APPLICATION (cont.) .
MIXING
Pour the entire liquid polymer into a clean 5-gallon pail. Do
not add water. Using a 3/8" drive power drill and metal
mixing blade; slowly add the dry mortar blend while mixing
at low speed. It is critical to add the entire dry mortar blend,
and then continue mixing at a higher speed until the mix is
a smooth paste with no lumps. When mixing is completed,
allow the material to set for the appropriate induction
period. The induction period will vary depending on
ambient air temperature, see chart on page 2. Mix again
just prior to application. The mixture must be used within
1-2 hours after mixing based on temperature.
APPLICATION
Apply only when air, material, and surface temperatures
are between 55-90°F (13-32°C) and the surface
temperature is at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point. The
relative humidity should not be greater than 85%. Do not
apply outdoors if rain is expected within 12-18 hours.
Prior to applying the Concrete Resurfacer, lightly mist the
surface with clean fresh water from a pump sprayer.
Surface should be damp, but not wet. Avoid puddles.
Remove pooled water with a squeegee to avoid leaving
puddles.
After the appropriate induction period (see chart) the
mixture will begin to thicken. Remix for 1-3 minutes. Use a
high quality 3/8" nap roller cover and a 9" roller frame to
apply an even coat of EpoxyShield Concrete Resurfacer
onto the surface, dipping the roller cover directly into the
5-gallon pail. Apply in 4x4 foot (1.2x1.2m) sections at a
time using long smooth strokes. Maintain a wet edge
during application. EpoxyShield Concrete Resurfacer must
be used within 1 to 2 hours of initial mixing.
EpoxyShield Concrete Resurfacer provides a clean,
naturally-textured finish. For protection against staining
and dirt pick-up, Rust-Oleum Concrete Sealer (sold
separately) is strongly recommended. For high traffic
areas, Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield coatings may be applied
after 24 hours.
CLEAN-UP
When finished, wash tools and equipment with warm soap
and water. Clean up dried polymer IMMEDIATELY with
xylene or acetone as dried paint is very difficult
to remove. Properly dispose of all roller covers and soiled
rags.
