water filter
13 Scale particles suspended in the water may give it a cloudy or greasy appearance.
The filter will prevent these particles going into your drink. If you see deposits on
the filter, clean it, otherwise the performance of your kettle will drop, your drinks
may contain scale, and the water inside the kettle may look cloudy.
cleaning the filter
14 Check your hands are free from soap, hand cream, or anything which might leave a
taint.
15 Switch the kettle off, and let it cool.
16 Open the lid.
17 Grip the top of the filter, and pull it up as far as it will come.
19 This will release the bottom hook, and loosen the pressure on the side hooks.
20 Pull the filter into the kettle, to release the side hooks from the spout, and lift it out
of the kettle.
21 Rinse the filter under a running tap while brushing with a soft brush.
22 Rinse the kettle, in case scale particles have fallen inside.
23 Lower the filter into the kettle, and engage the bottom hook in the bottom of the
spout.
24 This will locate the filter in about the right position.
25 Slide the filter upwards, till the side hooks are at the top of the space behind the
spout.
26 Push the filter towards the spout, to engage the side hooks.
27 Slide the filter down, to re-engage the bottom hook.
28 Close the lid.
