Thismenuitemwillresetyourmodeltoitsdefaultpositionontheflyingfield.Thiswillalsooccurif youhavecrashed
ordamagedyourmodelandhavetheAuto‐resetoptionsconfiguredcorrectlyundertheSystem>ProgramSetup>
Physicsmenu,oryoupresstheResetModelhotkey(default=“B”onyourkeyboard).
Launchsettings
TheLaunch menu controlshowthe selectedmodel willtake‐off(launch)fromthe flyingfield. Usingthismenu you
canchoosefromavarietyofdifferentlaunchmethods(pleasenotethatsomelaunchoptionsarenotavailableforall
modeltypes)andsettings,andalsocontainstheThrowModelcommand.
Launchoptions
Thefirstsectionofthismenuhasthefollowinglaunchoptionswhichyoucanchoosefrom.Whenyouselectalaunch
option,themodelwillautomaticallyreset,andlaunchwiththenewsetting:
• Automatic–Phoenixwillchoosethemostcommonlaunchoptionforthemodeltypeandclassselected.For
instance, unpowered gliders and hand‐launched models will start with the “Hand Launch” method, while
mostmodelswithunderca rriagewillstartfroma“Groundlaunch”position.
• Groundlaunch–Themodelwillstartsittingonthefieldreadyfortake‐off.Thisisthemostcommonlaunch
method. Please note that if you have a model without undercar r iage selected, Phoenix will automatically
select“HandLaunch”forthemodel.
• Handlaunch–Thislaunchmodeletsyourotatetheviewusingyourtransmitter’selevator/aileronsticksor
byright‐clickdraggingyourmousewiththeselectedmodelheldinfrontofthecamera.Whenyouarehappy
withthedirectionthemodelispointedin,throttle‐upwithyourradio,orholdtheleftmousebuttondown
tolaunchthemodelinthecurrentcameradirection.
• Towlaunch–Thismodelisforunpoweredglidersonly,andplacesanAI‐controlledtowpilotinfrontofyo ur
model.Thetowpilotwillautomaticallytake‐off,draggingyourmodelbehindonitstow‐line,andascendto
75m in height. It will then circle until you disengage the tow‐line. You can disengage the tow‐line at an y
pointbythrottlingupwithyourradio.
Autolaunchwhenlanded
This option controls whether Phoenix will automatically reset and re‐launch yourmodel whenit is on the ground.
Thisoptiononlyappliestomodelslaunchedwiththehand‐launchortow‐launchfacility.
Throwmodel
Clickingthismenuitemw ill“throw”yourmodelintotheair,increasingitsheightandspeed.Youcanalsothrowyour
model by pressing the Throw Model hotkey (default = “T” on your keyboard). This command only functions with
glidermodelswhichhavebeenlaunchedwiththehand‐launchortow‐launchfacility.
Positionsettings
Thismenucontainsfunctionsforchangingthestartingpositionofyourmodel:
Change
ClickthismenuoptiontostarttheChangeModelPositionmode.Wheninthismode,youwillseealloftheavailable
starting positions for the model type you have selected. Scroll around the landscape by right‐click‐dragging your
mouse,andleft‐clickonacircletoselectthatasthenewdefaultstartingpositionforyourmodel.
