Thismenuitemwillresetyourmodeltoitsdefaultpositionontheflyingfield.Thiswillalsooccurif youhavecrashed
ordamagedyourmodelandhavetheAutoresetoptionsconfiguredcorrectlyundertheSystem>ProgramSetup>
Physicsmenu,oryoupresstheResetModelhotkey(default=“B”onyourkeyboard).
Launchsettings
TheLaunch menu controlshowthe selectedmodel willtakeoff(launch)fromthe flyingfield. Usingthismenu you
canchoosefromavarietyofdifferentlaunchmethods(pleasenotethatsomelaunchoptionsarenotavailableforall
modeltypes)andsettings,andalsocontainstheThrowModelcommand.
Launchoptions
Thefirstsectionofthismenuhasthefollowinglaunchoptionswhichyoucanchoosefrom.Whenyouselectalaunch
option,themodelwillautomaticallyreset,andlaunchwiththenewsetting:
AutomaticPhoenixwillchoosethemostcommonlaunchoptionforthemodeltypeandclassselected.For
instance, unpowered gliders and handlaunched models will start with the “Hand Launch” method, while
mostmodelswithunderca rriagewillstartfroma“Groundlaunch”position.
GroundlaunchThemodelwillstartsittingonthefieldreadyfortakeoff.Thisisthemostcommonlaunch
method. Please note that if you have a model without undercar r iage selected, Phoenix will automatically
select“HandLaunch”forthemodel.
HandlaunchThislaunchmodeletsyourotatetheviewusingyourtransmitter’selevator/aileronsticksor
byrightclickdraggingyourmousewiththeselectedmodelheldinfrontofthecamera.Whenyouarehappy
withthedirectionthemodelispointedin,throttleupwithyourradio,orholdtheleftmousebuttondown
tolaunchthemodelinthecurrentcameradirection.
TowlaunchThismodelisforunpoweredglidersonly,andplacesanAIcontrolledtowpilotinfrontofyo ur
model.Thetowpilotwillautomaticallytakeoff,draggingyourmodelbehindonitstowline,andascendto
75m in height. It will then circle until you disengage the towline. You can disengage the towline at an y
pointbythrottlingupwithyourradio.
Autolaunchwhenlanded
This option controls whether Phoenix will automatically reset and relaunch yourmodel whenit is on the ground.
Thisoptiononlyappliestomodelslaunchedwiththehandlaunchortowlaunchfacility.
Throwmodel
Clickingthismenuitemw ill“throw”yourmodelintotheair,increasingitsheightandspeed.Youcanalsothrowyour
model by pressing the Throw Model hotkey (default = “T” on your keyboard). This command only functions with
glidermodelswhichhavebeenlaunchedwiththehandlaunchortowlaunchfacility.
Positionsettings
Thismenucontainsfunctionsforchangingthestartingpositionofyourmodel:
Change
ClickthismenuoptiontostarttheChangeModelPositionmode.Wheninthismode,youwillseealloftheavailable
starting positions for the model type you have selected. Scroll around the landscape by rightclickdragging your
mouse,andleftclickonacircletoselectthatasthenewdefaultstartingpositionforyourmodel.
