Turning on the Power
Before powering up the projector and igniting the lamp, you must define in memory which
size lamp is installed, otherwise you risk severely over-driving or under-driving a lamp.
Defining the Installed
Lamp Size
1. Press MENU. The Status Display at the top of the projector will show a “Lamp Size” of
2000, 3000, 4500 or 6000 watts. See
Figure 3-24.

2. Enter the Lamp Password or the Runco service password. (You must enter a
password unless the “Enable Password” service option has been turned off.)
3. Press or to select 2000, if a different lamp size is shown.
4. When the Status Display shows the correct lamp type, you can turn on the projector
and lamp.
Explosion hazard. DO NOT turn the projector on until you have
defined the lamp size.
WARNING

The Lamp Size can also be changed in the Service menu (Service
password required) if the projector is running, but the change will not
take effect until the next power-up. Whenever possible, define the
lamp size before igniting the lamp.
