Connecting the Ballast to the Lamp Igniter: The external power supply/ballast
connects to the lamp igniter via two, high-voltage DC power cables with “twist-lock”
connectors. The connectors are color-coded and of different genders for easy
identification (red=positive; black=negative); see
Figure 3-22.
To connect the external power supply/ballast to the igniter:
1. Connect the positive (red, male) DC power connector to the red (female) terminal on the
lamp igniter connection panel. Insert the connector all the way in, then turn it 90
degrees clockwise to lock it.
2. Connect the negative (black, female) DC power connector to the black (male) terminal
on the lamp igniter connection panel. Insert the connector all the way in, then turn it 90
degrees clockwise to lock it.
