Introduction
My Wi-Fi (MiFi)
A mobile Wi-Fi hotspot device is called a MiFi Hotspot. It turns 3G signals from a SIM card into Wi-Fi signals and creates a personal Wi-Fi hotspot. This means that
users can connect up to ve different Wi-Fi enabled devices to the internet at once.
Compared to the alternative mobile broadband connectivity for wireless communication, it is a more cost-efcient options. Advantages include:
Municipal Wireless Network (Muni-Fi)
Muni-Fi is the concept of turning an entire city into a wireless access zone, giving rise to the “wireless city”. It requires the deployment of hundreds to thousands of
hotspots in the city and allows Wi-Fi enabled devices to make connections automatically. Earlier initiatives charged users for access. As wireless becomes increasingly
ubiquitous, users can expect free access to Wi-Fi hotspots regardless of location as governments worldwide are engaged in related developments already.
IEIMobile Applications
The Internet of Things (IOT) holds an enormous amount of opportunity and value for the industry. Having information available anytime anywhere can enhance the
decision making process, increase information accuracy, and decrease costs associated with traditional business practices:
As Wi-Fi technology and infrastructure become increasingly ubiquitous and mature, the adoption of mobile devices with Wi-Fi connections will be a standard. With
built-in Wi-Fi modules and internal antennas, IEIMobile’s devices can connect to Wi-Fi hotspots (MiFi, Muni-Fi) and enable information obtained by mobile eld
workers to be transferred to the back end ofce.
However, in situations where Wi-Fi hotspots (MiFi, Muni-Fi) are unavailable, mobile broadband modems can be used to access wireless communication. IEIMobile’s
devices integrated with mobile broadband modules (such as 3G) offer fast, powerful, and stable wireless connections for users on the move.
Wireless technologies play an important role in the Internet of Things (IOT). The demand for mobility and automation has caused breakthrough innovations that will
change the market and the world’s infrastructure. Currently, two denitive trends in the wireless industry can be seen
Mobile Wireless Technology Trends
1.Connect multiple devices
2.Choice of carriers – including regional carriers
3.Potential discount if added to an existing service plan (depends on carrier)
4.Optional 4G connection (depends on carrier)
5.Potential for contract-free/prepaid service which is benecial if service is not needed all the time
6.Ease of upgrade from 3G
