5. Using a finger or a “soft” tool, push the takedown plate down (see Figure 10A)
to expose the takedown pin (see Figure 10B).
6. The slide must be pushed back approximately 1/16” before you can insert the
Ruger key into the slot on the right side of the frame (see Figure 11A). Now push
the takedown pin out the left side of the pistol (see Figure 11B).

forward and separate it
