Basic Rules to Assembling Window Frames
y Make certain that the window is properly
ÁDVKHGLQDFFRUdance with local building
code requirements. PVC trim is intended to
be aesthetic and not part of the water
resistant system.
y It is recommended that the window frame
be assembled prior to the installation
around the window. Joints should be glued
and screwed together. Pocket screws
should be used where possible.
y Measure the width and height of the
window. Add 1/8” to both measurements.
This will leave 1/16” spacing around the
perimeter of the window to allow for
expansion and contraction of the frame.
y Fasten the frame to the wall using
fasteners outlined on page 8 .
