The exhaust systemon your car incorporatesa catalytic converter
which converts poisonous exhaust emissionsinto environmentally
less harmful gases, thereby reducingpollution.
Catalytic converters are easily damaged through improper use, so
be sure to take notice of the following precautionsto minimise the
chance of accidentaldamage.
Fuel
• Only use 95 RONUNLEADED petrol to EN 228 specification.
Using leaded fuel will destroy the catalyst.
• Never allowthe car to run out of fuel - this could cause a misfire
which could damage the catalyst.
Starting
• Do not continue to operatethe starter after a few failed attempts,
seek qualifiedassistance.
• Do not operate the starter if an engine misfireis suspected and
do not attempt to clear a misfire by pressingthe accelerator
pedal.
• Do not attempt to push or tow startthe car.

Exhaust temperatures can
be extremely high, do not
park on ground where
combustible materials such
as dry grass or leaves could
come in contact with the
exhaust system - in dry
weather a fire could result.
