6. Voltmeter (if fitted)
Indicates batteryvoltage. During normaldriving, the pointer should
register between 12 and 15 volts depending on road speed and
electricalloads.
If the pointer fallsinto the lower RED zone whiledriving, the battery
is receivinginsufficient charge.Switch off unnecessary electrical
equipment, and if the pointer remainsin the RED zone seek
qualified assistance.
If the pointer entersthe upper RED zone, this indicatesa serious
fault with the chargingsystem; seek qualifiedassistance urgently.
7. Oil temperature gauge (if fitted)
Indicates the temperature of the engine oil. For gentle and moderate
speed driving, expect the pointer to rest between 90° C and 120° C
(2nd and 3rd graduationson the gauge). Sustained high speed
motoring may causethe temperature to riseto 150° C (4th
graduation on the gauge - on the edge of the RED zone). If the
pointer enters the RED zone, you must reduce road speed
immediately and drive GENTLY until the temperature falls below
150° C. If the oil temperaturedoes not fall, stop the caras soon as
safety permitsand seek qualified assistance.
