4.14.2 Online Capacity Expansion and RAID Level Migration
(OCE/ORLM)
OCE/ORLM allows you to add hard disks to an existing RAID array, and/or convert the array to another
RAID level. Data stored on the array is not lost during this procedure. The procedure described below
documents the expansion of a 3-disk 2TB RAID 5 array to a 4-disk, 3TB RAID 5 array. NOTE:
OCE/ORLM will not work with Mac OS X – this operating system will be unable to expand the
partitions of expanded/migrated RAID arrays.
