12.3.2 DHCP:
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) automatically assigns a valid IP address to a
network device on the Internet. Allocating a fixed IP address for each device will result in idle
IP addresses when the devices are not in operation. Therefore, DHCP can make more
efficient use of the IP addresses. To use this feature, you have to have a PC or router to be
set as DHCP server to provide the service.

Here is an example of how to set up connection between the DVR and your PC in DHCP
mode
Step 1: Set up your router/DHCP server. For details, please consult your MIS staff or
