6 Discrete Output (DO)
Function Block
The Discrete Output (DO) function block processes a discrete setpoint
and saves it to a specified channel to produce an output signal. The
block supports mode control, output tracking, and simulation. There is
no process alarm detection in the block. In operation, the DO function
block determines its setpoint, sets the output, and, as an option, checks
a feedback signal from the field device to confirm the physical output
operation. Figure 6-2 illustrates the internal components of the DO
function block, and Table 6-1 lists the system parameters.
CAS_IN_D = The remote setpoint value from another
function block.
BKCAL_OUT_D = The output value and status required by
BKCAL_IN_D input of another block for
output tracking.
