A flash upgrade file with a “.bin” extension obtained from Rose Electronics is required. Locate the file on the
computer using the Browse button, and then click the Perform upgrade button to initiate the firmware upgrade.
The progress of the upgrade will be displayed as the file is uploaded.
When the upgrade has completed, click the link Click here to reboot the unit into normal operation. This will
take the unit out of upgrade mode and return it to normal operation running the upgraded firmware. If the DIP
switch method was used to start the upgrade procedure, remove power from the unit, return DIP Switch 2 to
the OFF position, and reapply power to the unit.
Reset to Factory Defaults
Resetting the UltraLink 2 DVI to factory defaults erases all configuration information such as hosts, users and
passwords. It also restores the default network address of 192.168.1.42. The procedure to reset the UltraLink
2 DVI to factory defaults is as follows.
1. Remove power from the unit.
2. Remove all other connections except the CATx cable for the network connection.
3. Move DIP Switch 2 to the ON position to put the unit in maintenance mode.
4. Apply power to the unit.
5. When the CATx port’s orange LED is illuminated, immediately move DIP Switch 2 to the OFF position.
6. The LED will flash off once after 15 seconds if the reset to factory defaults operation is successful.
7. The unit will reboot to complete the operation.
