Besondere Hinweise In den folgenden Fällen bleibt der Auslöser gesperrt: • Die Kamera ist nur mit eingelegten Batterien funktionsfähig. • Zum Betrieb sind zwei Lithium-Batterien 3 V (CR-123A oder DL-123A) erforderlich. • Beim Einschalten der Kamera öffnet sich die Objektivabdeckung automatisch. • Die Objektivabdeckung darf nicht von Hand geöffnet werden. • Solange kein Film eingelegt ist, kann zwar der Verschluß ausgelöst werden, die Filmtransportfunktionen sind jedoch außer Betrieb.

Einlegen der Batterien Batterieprüfung 1. Öffnen Sie den Batteriefachdeckel, indem Sie den Verriegelungsstift wie abgebildet mit einem spitzen Gegenstand drücken. (Abb. 1) 2. Legen Sie die Batterien unter Beachtung der Polungsmarken ein. (Abb. 2) 3. Schließen Sie den Batteriefachdeckel. Er rastet unter Druck ein. 1. Keine Anzeige: Gute Batterieleistung. Anmerkungen • Verwenden Sie ausschließlich Batterien vom Typ CR123A oder CR-123A.
Bei falsch eingelegtem Film Einlegen des Films Anmerkungen 1. Öffnen Sie die Kamerarückwand gemäß Abb. 3 durch Druck auf die Entriegelung. 2. Legen Sie eine Filmpatrone in das Patronenfach ein. Wenden Sie keine Gewalt an! 3. Ziehen Sie den Filmanfang gemäß Abb. 4 bis zur Startmarke auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite. Zu viel herausgezogener Film muß vorsichtig mit der Hand zurückgespult werden. Der Film darf keinen Buckel bilden! 4. Schließen Sie die Rückwand, bis sie auf Druck hörbar einrastet.
Anbringen der Handschlaufe Richtige Kamerahaltung Bringen Sie die Handschlaufe wie abgebildet an. (Abb. 5) Halten Sie die Kamera – insbesondere bei längeren Brennweiten (Tele) – zur Vermeidung von Verwacklungsunschärfe besonders ruhig. Schlüpfen Sie mit der Hand stets durch die Handschlaufe. Bei Queraufnahmen sollten beide Ellenbogen, bei Hochaufnahmen ein Ellenbogen am Körper anliegen. Legen Sie das Auge eng an das Sucherokular an.
Aufnahme 1. Bringen Sie das AF-Meßfeld mit dem Hauptobjekt zur Deckung. 2. Tippen Sie den Auslöser an (bis zum Druckpunkt). Die Schärfe ist eingestellt, sobald die grüne LED aufleuchtet. Ist das Objekt nur 45 cm oder weniger entfernt, blinkt die grüne Lampe, und der Auslöser bleibt gesperrt. 3. Zur Aufnahme drücken Sie den Auslöser voll durch. Zur Vermeidung von Verwacklungsunschärfe sollte die Auslösung so sanft wie möglich erfolgen. 4. Nach der Aufnahme wird der Film automatisch weitertransportiert.
Schärfenspeicherung Zur Fokussierung auf außermittige Objekte empfiehlt sich die nachstehend beschriebene Schärfenspeicherung. (Beispiele 1 – 3) 1. Bringen Sie das AF-Meßfeld mit dem Hauptobjekt zur Deckung. 2. Tippen Sie den Auslöser an. (Die grüne LED leuchtet oder blinkt langsam.) • Drücken Sie den Auslöser noch nicht voll durch, um keine ungewollte Aufnahme zu machen. 3. Halten Sie den Auslöser angetippt, und schwenken Sie auf den endgültigen Ausschnitt.
Filmrückspulung Anmerkungen 1. Automatische Rückspulung • Am Filmende spult die Kamera den Film automatisch zurück. Die Rückspulung stoppt automatisch. • Nach der Rückspulung blinkt in der LCD die Anzeige für Rückwand und Film. • Beim Druck auf den Hauptschalter wird die Rückspulung unterbrochen, bis die Taste wieder freigegeben wird. • Sollte der Rückspulvorgang abgebrochen werden, noch bevor der Bildzähler auf „0“ steht, müssen die Batterien erneuert werden.
Dateneinbelichtung (nur Modell mit Datenrückwand) mode select set Drücken Sie die MODE-Taste. Bei jedem Druck schaltet die Betriebsart wie abgebildet weiter. Nach der Einbelichtung blinkt die Einbelichtungsanzeige in der Daten-LCD zwei bis drei Sekunden lang. Anmerkung Einbelichtungsanzeige 95 6 15 Jahr - Monat - Tag 15 12 20 • Die versenkten Tasten sollten mit einem spitzen Gegenstand oder Fingernagel gedrückt werden. Wählen Sie die gewünschte Schreibweise des Datums durch Druck auf die Taste MODE.
Auswechseln der Datenbatterie Anmerkungen Wird die Datenanzeige schwach, muß die Datenbatterie ausgewechselt werden. • Vor einem hellen oder unruhigen Hintergrund kann das Datum im Bild nur schwer lesbar sein. • Die Datenrückwand ist für den Betrieb bei Temperaturen zwischen 50°C und -10°C bestimmt. Bei höheren bzw. tieferen Temperaturen kann die Anzeige schwer lesbar werden. • Das Quartz-Date-Modell ist mit einem automatischen Kalender ausgestattet, der bis zum Jahr 2019 programmiert ist.
Betriebsarten Die gewünschte Betriebsart wird durch Druck auf den Funktionswähler eingestellt. Normalaufnahmen Fuzzy-Automatik Porträt-Zoom Step-Zoom Langzeitbelichtung Intervallaufnahme Mehrfachbelichtung Reihenbilder In den Betriebsarten Fuzzy-Automatik, Porträt-Zoom und Reihenbilder bleibt die Einstellung auch nach einer Aufnahme erhalten. In allen anderen Betriebsarten schaltet die Kamera nach einer Aufnahme wieder auf Normalbetrieb zurück.
Blitzfunktionen Die gewünschte Blitzfunktion wird durch Druck auf die Blitztaste eingestellt.
Verringerung roter Augen/Gegenlichtkorrektur Die Vorblitzfunktion zur Verringerung roter Augen und die Gegenlichtkorrektur werden durch Druck auf die entsprechende Taste über der Kamerarückwand eingestellt.
Selbstauslöser Der Selbstauslöser wird durch Druck auf die Selbstauslöser-Taste eingestellt. Normalaufnahmen Selbstauslöser Fernauslösung Nach jeder Aufnahme schaltet die Kamera auf Normalbetrieb zurück. Lediglich bei Fernauslösung und Auslösung mit 2 s Vorlaufzeit bleibt die Einstellung erhalten. 18 Doppel-Selbstauslöser Auslösung mit 2 s Vorlaufzeit Anmerkung • Der Fernauslöser ist als getrenntes Zubehör erhältlich.
red eye auto red eye auto fill-in flash fill-in off off mode Fuzzy-Automatik Anmerkung Zur Vermeidung von Verwacklungsunschärfe und Unterbelichtung sollten Sie auf Fuzzy-Automatik schalten. In diesem Fall paßt der Mikrocomputer der Kamera die Brennweite, den Blitz und die Verschlußzeit an die Gegebenheiten an. • Bei Fuzzy-Automatik stellt die Kamera gegebenenfalls eine andere Objektgröße ein, um eine technisch befriedigende Wiedergabe sicherzustellen.
red eye auto red eye fill-in auto flash fill-in off Porträt-Zoom In dieser Betriebsart sorgt die Kamera – im Rahmen des verfügbaren Brennweitenbereichs – für gleichbleibende Objektgröße auch bei wechselndem Aufnahmeabstand. (Beispiel: Brustbild.) Bringen Sie die zu fotografierende Person in die Bildmitte, und tippen Sie den Auslöser an. Die Kamera zoomt nun auf den geeigneten Ausschnitt. Zur Aufnahme drücken Sie den Auslöser voll durch.

Die erste Aufnahme erfolgt zehn Sekunden nach der Auslösung; weitere Aufnahmen folgen nach jeweils fünf Sekunden (außer bei Blitzeinsatz). Die Kamera belichtet eine Aufnahme nach der anderen, solange der Auslöser gedrückt gehalten wird. Da die Schärfe vor jeder Aufnahme neu eingestellt wird, muß das AF-Meßfeld auf dem Hauptobjekt liegen.

Drücken Sie den Auslöser nach Einstellung der Betriebsart Mehrfachbelichtungen voll durch. Der Film wird danach nicht weitertransportiert, und das Symbol für Mehrfachbelichtungen blinkt in der LCD.

(Warten Sie nach der Einstellung einige Sekunden, bis „INT“ in der LCD nicht mehr blinkt.) 2.

Der Verschluß bleibt geöffnet, solange der Auslöser gedrückt gehalten wird. Die verstrichene Zeit wird in der LCD angezeigt. Langzeitbelichtung mit Blitz: Für nächtliche Personenaufnahmen kann die Kombination der Langzeitbelichtung mit Blitz Vorteile bringen.
red eye auto red eye auto fill-in flash fill-in off off mode Vorblitz zur Verringerung roter Augen Anmerkungen Das Phänomen der „roten Augen“ tritt vorwiegend auf, wenn Porträts bei schwacher Allgemeinbeleuchtung geblitzt werden. Der Vorblitz ist geeignet, den Effekt der roten Augen zu verringern. (Beispiele 16 und 17) Halten Sie die Kamera bis zum Hauptblitz ruhig.
red eye auto red eye auto fill-in flash fill-in off off mode Gegenlichtkorrektur Anmerkungen Bei Aufnahmen außerhalb der Blitzreichweite gegen einen hellen Hintergrund ergibt sich eine Unterbelichtung. Mit der Gegenlichtkorrektur wird die Belichtung um 1,5 LW verlängert. (Beispiele 4 und 5) • Bei Aufnahmen in Richtung starker Lichtquellen, z.B. der Sonne, kann sich Streulicht als Schleier über das Bild legen.
Belichtungskorrektur Mit dieser Funktion ist eine manuelle Korrektur der Belichtung zur Abstimmung auf besondere Verhältnisse möglich. Eine Pluskorrektur führt zu stärkerer Belichtung, eine Minuskorrektur zu schwächerer. • Zur Einstellung der Korrektur drücken Sie eine der Zoom-Tasten (T oder W) bei gleichzeitig gedrückter Blitztaste. • Die Einstellung ist im Bereich von 0 bis +/-3 LW in halben Stufen möglich.
red eye auto red eye fill-in auto flash fill-in off off mode Langzeitsynchronisation Diese Funktion eignet sich für Nacht- oder Dämmerungsaufnahmen. Die Funktion wird durch das Symbol gekennzeichnet. Sie basiert auf der Kombination des Blitzes mit einer längeren Verschlußzeit. Die Kamera sollte auf ein Stativ gestellt werden. Blitzabschaltung red eye Diese Betriebsart gestattet ungeblitzte Aufnahmen, zum Beispiel von Sonnenuntergängen oder in Innenräumen.

Drücken Sie zunächst die Selbstauslösertaste. Ein Druck auf den Auslöser setzt den Selbstauslöser in Gang. 2. Die Selbstauslöserlampe leuchtet sieben Sekunden lang und blinkt die restlichen 3 s bis zur Belichtung. (Abb. 10) • Stellen Sie die Kamera zur Vermeidung von Verwacklungsunschärfe auf ein Stativ.

Die Belichtung erfolgt zwei Sekunden nach dem Druck auf den Auslöser. Die Schnappschuß-Einstellung bewährt sich zum Beispiel bei Aufnahmen aktiver Kinder oder Haustiere. Die Kamera ist dabei auf einen Entfernungsbereich von 1,1 m bis 13 m eingestellt. red eye auto fill-in off 32 1.
Nahaufnahmen Anmerkung Bei Aufnahmeabständen von 1 m – 0,48 m in Weitwinkel-Einstellung bzw. 1 m – 0,62 m in Tele-Einstellung blinkt die grüne LED langsam. Beim Druck auf den Auslöser schaltet die Kamera auf Nahaufnahmen, und erscheint in der LCD. das Symbol Richten Sie das AF-Nahmeßfeld auf das Hauptobjekt, und drücken Sie den Auslöser zur Belichtung. • Bei kürzeren Aufnahmeabständen als 0,48 m blinkt die grüne LED hastig, und der Auslöser bleibt gesperrt.
red eye auto fill-in off Fernauslösung Anmerkungen Mit dem als Zubehör erhältlichen Fernauslöser kann die Kamera drahtlos gesteuert werden. (Abb. 11) 1. Zunächst schalten Sie mit der Selbstauslösertaste (SELF) auf Fernauslösung. 2. Danach läßt sich mit der Zoom-Taste des Fernauslösers die Brennweite in derselben Weise verstellen wie an der Kamera. Jeder Druck auf die Zoom-Taste führt zu einer Verstellung in den folgenden fünf Stufen: 28, 45, 60, 75, 90 mm bzw. umgekehrt. 3.
Batteriewechsel Fernauslöser 1. Öffnen Sie den Batteriefachdeckel, indem Sie ihn in die abgebildete Richtung schieben. (Abb. 12) 2. Entnehmen Sie die alte Batterie, und legen Sie die neue so ein, daß ihr Pluspol (+) oben liegt. 3. Schließen Sie den Batteriefachdeckel, der hörbar einrastet. • Verwenden Sie eine 3-V-Lithium-Batterie vom Typ JS CR 2025. Unendlich-Einstellung Anmerkungen Diese Betriebsart ist für Aufnahmen entfernter Objekte durch eine Glasscheibe bestimmt.
Pflege und Aufbewahrung Wichtige Hinweise • Säubern Sie die Kamera gegebenenfalls mit einem weichen Tuch. • Die Frontlinse des Objektivs sollte ausschließlich mit Optik-Reinigungspapier und -flüssigkeit gesäubert werden. • Schützen Sie die Kamera vor Sand und Wasser. • Bewahren Sie die Kamera an einem kühlen, trockenen und staubfreien Ort auf. Lassen Sie sie niemals an Orten zurück, an denen ein Hitzestau auftreten kann, wie z.B. in einem geparkten Wagen.

Inserting the batteries Checking battery condition 1. Open the battery-chamber cover by pressing its hole with a pointed object as shown in Fig. 1. 2. Insert two fresh batteries (type CR-123A or DL-123A) with their positive and negative poles oriented as illustrated. Correct polarity is indispensable for operation of the camera! (Fig. 2) 3. Press the battery-chamber cover shut until it clicks into place. 1. No battery symbol in LCD: Batteries good. 2.
Display signaling film-loading error Loading film Notes 1. Press the back-lock release as shown to open the camera back. (Fig. 3) 2. Cautiously place the film cassette in the film chamber, taking care not to use force. 3. Pull the film leader over to the starting mark on the opposite side. If necessary, rewind excessive length of film manually, turning the cassette spindle. Make sure that the film lies flat. (Fig. 4) 4. Close the camera back so that it clicks into place.
Attaching the strap Holding the camera To attach the strap, simply thread it through its open end as illustrated. (Fig. 5) Holding your camera steady during exposure is very important for really sharp pictures. Above all at longer focal lengths (Tele), there is increased risk of camera shake. Always slip your hand through the camera strap. For vertical pictures, hold one elbow close to your body, for horizontal pictures both elbows.
Taking pictures Focusing range 1. Look through the viewfinder and aim the focus frame at your subject. 2. Lightly press the shutter release (keeping your finger on the button) to activate the AF system. As soon as the camera has focused on your subject, the green lamp will light. If your subject is less than 0.45 m away, the green lamp will blink rapidly, and the shutter locks. Step back and try again. 3. Without removing your finger, fully depress the shutter release for exposure.
Locking focus You may wish to focus on a subject that is not in the center of your picture and thus does not coincide with the focus frame in the finder. Proceed as follows: (Examples 1 – 3) 1. Aim the camera so that the focus frame coincides with your off-center subject. 2. Lightly press the shutter release. The green LED will light or blink slowly, and focus is locked. Be careful not to press the release fully to avoid taking a picture at this stage! 3.
Rewinding the film Notes Automatic rewinding • Should automatic rewinding be found disturbingˇin a particularly quiet environment, keep the ON/OFF button depressed for as long as you wish to interrupt it. • Should rewinding stop before the frame counter reads “0”, change the batteries. Do not open the camera back until the film has been fully rewound after the battery change. After the last exposure, the camera automatically rewinds the film and stops.
Data-back operation mode select set 95 6 15 The five recording modes shown at left are available. They can be accessed by pressing the MODE button until the desired display appears. The print indicator in the data-back LCD will blink for two to three seconds after an exposure with date recording. Note • Use a pointed object or your fingernail to press the data set buttons. If desired, settings can be changed rapidly by keeping the corresponding button depressed.
Replacing the data-back battery Notes When the display of the data-back LCD becomes weak, replace the battery housed inside the data back. (There should be no film in the camera when you open the back.) 1. Unscrew and remove the battery-chamber cover as illustrated. (Fig. 9) 2. Operating modes To set the desired operating mode, press the function selector. Modes change in the order shown below. Normal photography Bulb exposure Fuzzy Zoom Interval shooting Portrait Zoom Multi-exposures Step Zoom Continuous shooting • The Fuzzy, Portrait and continuous-shooting settings will be retained after an exposure. In all the other modes, the camera will automatically reset to normal photography.
Flash modes Set the desired flash mode by pressing the flash-mode selector. Modes change in the order shown below.
Red-eye reduction/backlight control The red-eye-reduction and back-light-control button serves to navigate between the following modes.
Self-timer modes There are various self-timer modes that can be selected by pressing the self-timer selector. This also serves to set the camera for remote-control operation. Each depression of the selector changes the mode in the order shown below. Self-timer Normal photography Remote control Double self-timer 2-second delay Note The camera will reset to normal photography after every exposure. Only the remote-control and 2-second-delay modes will be retained.
red eye auto red eye auto fill-in flash fill-in off off mode Fuzzy Zoom mode Note Switch to Fuzzy Zoom if you want to avoid camera shake and underexposure in difficult situations. The camera’s microcomputer then automatically controls focal length, flash and shutter speed to ensure the best possible result. • In the Fuzzy Zoom mode, the camera may automatically vary the size of your subject in the picture to suit the shooting conditions.
red eye auto red eye fill-in auto flash fill-in off Portrait Zoom mode This mode will keep the size of your subject constant (head-and-shoulders portrait) even if you vary the shooting distance. Of course, this is only possible within the limits of the zoom range. Aim the focus frame at your subject. Upon light depression of the shutter release, the camera automatically zooms to the required focal length. You may then depress the shutter release fully to take the picture.

See the chart below. The first shot will be taken ten seconds after depression of the shutter release. Further shots follow at 5-second intervals (unless flash is used).

The camera will keep shooting as long as you press the shutter release. Since the camera will refocus before every exposure, be sure to keep your subject covered by the focus frame. (Examples 9 – 11) • With flash, the interval between exposures will be increased by three seconds, required for recharging.

Optimum results will be obtained with only two exposures, but more than two are possible. • For best results, use a dark background. • To avoid overexposure, use exposure compensation. Set -1 EV for two, -1.5 EV for three, -2 EV for four exposures. These corrections will vary according to individual shooting conditions.
red eye auto red eye fill-in auto flash fill-in off Interval shooting This mode sets the camera for unmanned operation at preset intervals for a time-lapse effect. Shooting intervals can be chosen between 10 seconds and 60 minutes. 1. Set the desired shooting interval by keeping the MODE button depressed and pressing one of the zoom buttons (T or W). 2. Wait for a few seconds until “INT” in the LCD stops blinking. 3. Press the shutter release. The lens retracts, and the lens cover closes.
red eye auto red eye auto fill-in flash fill-in off off mode Time exposure (bulb setting) Note In the bulb mode, the shutter remains open for as long as you keep the shutter release depressed. The elapsed time from 1/2 s to 60 s is displayed on the LCD panel. The mode is ideal for time exposures beyond the automatically controlled shutter-speed range, for instance at night. Be sure to use a sturdy tripod to avoid camera shake.
red eye auto red eye auto fill-in flash fill-in off off mode Preflash to reduce “red eye” Note In this mode, the flash fires twice: The main flash is preceded by a preflash designed to make your subject’s pupils contract, thus reducing the risk of “red eye” in your pictures. Camera and subject should not move until the second (main) flash has fired. (Examples 16 and 17) • “Red eye” occurs if a subject’s pupils are wide open. The flash then illuminates the retina which shows up red in your pictures.

Backlight control will increase exposure by 1.5 EV to improve shadow detail. (Examples 4 and 5) • Take care to shade the lens. • Flare may spoil your picture if you shoot directly into a strong light source, such as the sun.
Exposure compensation This allows a manual correction to be tagged onto the automatic exposure setting to allow for special lighting conditions or obtain special effects. A “+” correction increases exposure, a “-” correction reduces it. • To set the desired correction, keep the flash button depressed and press one of the two zoom buttons (T or W). • Exposure compensation is possible over a range of ± 3 EV in increments of 0.5 EV.
red eye auto red eye auto fill-in flash fill-in off off Slow sync mode • To avoid camera shake, it is advisable to use a tripod or other firm support. Normal flash photography of night scenes or indoors usually leaves the background underexposed because it involves relatively fast shutter speeds. Set for slow sync , the camera will use a slower shutter speed for the background to register in the picture, the foreground being lit by the flash.

Mount the camera on a tripod or place it on a firm support. 68 off mode 2. Select the self-timer mode by pressing the SELF button. 3. Make sure the focus frame is aimed at an object at the desired distance and press the shutter release. 4. The countdown starts.
red eye auto red eye fill-in auto flash fill-in off off mode Double self-timer red eye auto fill-in off This mode will give you a second exposure two seconds after the first, which often shows people more relaxed after the first “click”. If you use flash, the delay after the first exposure may be somewhat longer because the flash has to recycle first.

This may come in handy, for example, if you wish to avoid camera shake in a hand-held shot in low light. Zone focusing This is ideal for shooting action like children or pets at play. Focus will in this case be fixed for a range from 1.1 m to 13 m. red eye auto fill-in 1.
Close-up and macro photography Panorama photography The camera will automatically focus down to The “wide-screen” panorama format is equally well suited for sweeping panoramas and group shots. Most photofinishers are able to print full-frame panoramic shots. However, be sure to inform the lab that your film contains panoramic pictures (the printing of which is usually more expensive than standard processing). • 0.45 m at 28mm focal length (W) and • 0.57 m at 90mm focal length (T).
red eye auto fill-in off Remote control Note With the optional handset, the camera can be remotecontrolled. (Fig.11) • Attach the handset to the camera strap. 1. Select the remote-control mode by pressing the SELF button as described on page 56. 2. If necessary, change the focal-length setting of the lens by pressing the zoom button of the handset. The lens starts at 90 mm and with each depression of the zoom button zooms towards wide-angle in the following steps: 90, 75, 60, 45, 28 mm.
Changing the handset’s battery 1. Push the battery-chamber cover in the direction shown and open it. (Fig. 12) 2. Remove the old battery and insert a fresh type JS CR 2025 3V lithium cell with its positive terminal (+) up. 3. Close the battery-chamber cover until it clicks shut. Infinity lock Notes The infrared beam of the camera’s active autofocusing system cannot penetrate glass.
Care and storage Important hints • When the camera body needs cleaning, wipe it with a soft cloth. Never use alcohol or chemical solvents! • Use lens-cleaning tissue and, if necessary, fluid to clean glass surfaces. • Keep the camera away from sand and water. • Store the camera in a dry, cool and dust-free place. Never leave it in hot places, like a parked car or basking in the sun. • Protect your camera from shocks and vibrations. Should you ever drop it, have it checked before using it again.
Trouble shooting Shutter does not function upon depression of release. Check Correct Page Is lens cover fully open? Press ON/OFF button once. 42, 47 Are batteries loaded properly? Correct their polarity. 45 Has camera been left unused for a long time? Change batteries. 46 Was focus frame superimposed on subject as you pressed the shutter release?
