Glossary
Dr. PICZA files
A file saved in Dr. PICZA format. This normally has ".pix" as the extension.
DXF
DXF, the proprietary format for AutoCADĀ®, is also widely used as a format for exchanging data between
different applications. 3D Editor can export files in the DXF format for AutoCADĀ® Release 12.
Object
This refers to a three-dimensional object shown on the Dr. PICZA screen.
OpenGL
OpenGL is a one of high-performance graphics library for 3D graphics and image processing.
When you use a commercially available 3D accelerator board for OpenGL drawing in your computer, you can
make the drawing speed for 3D models even faster.
Polygon
"Polygon" refers to a multi-sided shape, and is the commonest method used in 3D computer graphics to represent
surfaces.
Dr. PICZA uses triangular polygons or quadrilateral polygons, according to the circumstances.
STL
STL (Stereo Lithography file) is a data format that lets different 3D applications exchange data.
The STL format represents solid objects as a collection of triangles.
