3.4 Installing and Adjusting the Blade
Do not try to move the carriage by hand. There is danger of breakdown of the PC-12.
Do not handle or touch the blade tip. Doing so may adversely affect the cutting quality of the blade.
When installing the blade holder, insert the blade holder until the collar of the blade holder lies flush against the upper
portion of the mounting hole.
Before attempting to install or remove a blade, switch off the power to the PC-12 and remove any loaded media.
When opening the front cover, do not press down forcefully on the front cover.
When closing the front cover, do not strike the front cover with force.
Doing so may cause the ink cartridges to come loose or result in breakdown.
Installing a Blade
When you are using the PC-12 for the first time, or when you are replacing the blade with a new one, follow the steps below to install a blade
in the blade holder.
As shown in the figure at right, insert the blade into the
blade holder, pressing it in until it clicks into place. When
doing this, press the blade down on a piece of cardboard or
the like.
