3-1 Print Modes
Print Mode
When you're printing using white ink and gloss ink, you need to make the settings for the print mode to match the sequence
of ll printing using CMYK color inks and white ink and the method of expression using gloss ink. This section gives a brief
overview of each type of print mode.

Print mode Overview

ing on CMYK colors or white, the media is pulled back and printed with gloss ink.
MatteVarnish (v) + PASS
This mode produces a matte nish on the printed item. In the case of ll overprint-
ing on CMYK colors or white, the media is pulled back and printed with gloss ink.
Embossing (v) + PASS
This mode produces a embossed nish that imparts a three-dimensional feel to the
printed item. In the case of ll overprinting on CMYK colors or white, the media is
pulled back and printed with gloss ink. You can vary the thickness by adjusting the
setting for the number of ll-overprinting passes using gloss ink.
