User -to-User Tips for Roland E-80 & G-70
Note:
Most tips for the Roland G-70 do work for the Roland E-80 too, but
there are exceptions. See the manual and addon. The mentioned
Roland G-1000 has the same 'engine' as the EM-2000 keyboard.
Version Nov. 21, 2014
Default, a clean user program
Starting a new user program after making an user program, it is convenient to start with a
clean one. You can do that by selecting a user program and pressing the <Default> button
combination. Another method to start with a clean user program is in the EASY SETTING
section, to press once the <Piano> key and after that pressing the <Arranger> key. All user
program settings should now be default.
Loading general settings when powering on
If you have made some general settings (effects, vocalizer setting etc.) and I would like
these settings to loaded when I turn on the keyboard, then follow this instruction:
Saving a user program with your favorite settings. Press [MENU] -> [UTILITY] -> [STARTUP]
.
In this screen you can choose to recall any user program, when the keyboard starts up.
Now select your "favorite settings user program" and your keyboard will always boot with
your favorite settings loaded.
About user programs
In the previous generation of Roland arranger keyboards we were used to work with "User
Performance Memory Registrations". With the G-70 and E-80 we call such registrations
"User Program Registrations" (.UPG files). See also the manual (for E-80, see page 125).
The G-70 / E-80
provides User Program memories that allow you to store almost all settings
(or registrations) you make on the front panel and the various display pages. Additional
registrations can be loaded directly from the internal memory or a memory card. Please
notice that all settings related to MIDI must be written to a MIDI Set. MIDI settings are not
saved to a User Program. (You can link a MIDI Set to each User Program, so that the User
Program in question automatically loads the required MIDI settings).
