FR-2b ENTRY CLASS
The new Roland FR-2b V-Accordion has the look and the feel of a traditional accordion but the heart beating inside
gives you all the advantages of digital control. It is provided with 82-button keyboard with 6 treble button modes
(C-Griff Europe, C-Griff 2, B-Griff Bajan, B-Griff Fin, D-Griff1, D-Griff 2) and 96 velocity-sensitive bass buttons (6 bass
& chord modes to suit your playing style). The true tone and characteristics of the best accordions have been enriched
with a wide palette of the other instruments, from percussion to bass, organ, strings etc…, to provide wider tonal
choice. Just one FR-2b can perform like a quartet such as bass, guitar, drum and accordion. You can easily change the
note assignments to the button keys and select the preset that suits your playing style. You can even unscrew the black
and white treble buttons and install them in the right places so that the button layout corresponds to the notes being
played.
Free Bass Mode and Bass to Treble Mode for even more exibility
The FR-2b gives you much more freedom in your performance, thanks to the Free Bass mode, which is chiey used
by musicians who want to play melodies and form their own chords with their left-hand (Bass&Chord section). A free
bass system (5 free bass registers and 5 orchestral free bass registers) uses a button board of single-note buttons with
a range of three octaves or more. With the Bass to Treble Mode the FR-2b can be used like a “Bassoon accordion”. In
this mode the bass part is played with the right hand (the bass and chord buttons are inactive).
Lightweight champion
Lightweight and exible, the FR-2b stands out for its portability. Whether you are a student or a professional musician,
at home or on stage, your back will denitely thank FR-2b!
You have got the power
Instead of included AC adapter, more than 5 hours of battery life (sold separately) set you free in any situation. In case
you run out of the power, any 8 AA type rechargeable batteries (the most common to nd) will do the job.
User Program
The FR-2b contains 8 memories (User Programs) where you can store your function settings. Working with those
memories has the advantage that you can recall frequently used settings at the press of a button.
Pad Function
Switch to PAD FUNCTION and the 5xPADS (above the Bass Registers bottons) become a powerful tool-now you
can add percussion sounds to your bassline and Chord, or use them as drumpads, and even record and play a rhythm
on the y in the Loop Playback mode.
Connection
The many connection options of the FR-2b allow you to perform in any situation. Headphones: Now you can practice
at any hour, without disturbing the neighbours or those around you. Line output: Of course you can plug into the PA
as usual, but you could use a wireless transmitter to leave you free to walk around on stage as amongst the audience
and make your performance more visually exciting. MIDI: We live in a digital world and MIDI is the digital instrument’s
language. You can play external keyboards and expanders, record your music on a sequencer or connect to an
Arranger Keyboard/Module to turn your V-Accordion into a whole band at your ngertips.
Make your FR-2b unique!
The FR-2b comes with 5 variations of inlay sheets which enable owners to change the appearance of their
