3-2 When Head Cleaning Is Not Effective
Performing More Powerful Cleaning
When the problems such as dot drop-out are not cleared up by the "normal cleaning," try the more forceful "powerful
cleaning." Note, however, that this consumes more ink than "normal cleaning," and too-frequent use may damage the
print heads themselves. Avoid using it more than necessary.
In the same way as for normal cleaning, choose and clean only heads that are incapable of correct printing.

Use to choose the number of a head that is not to be
cleaned.

to get rid of the number display.
Repeat this procedure to display the numbers of only the heads that
require cleaning.
Cleaning is performed only for the heads whose numbers are displayed.

When it finishes, the screen shown in the figure appears again.
