5. Clamping the workpiece
S For information concerning the safe clamping of
workpieces refer to page 24.
S The screw spindle and the movable jaws must
always move easily.
The handcrank is all that is needed to produce the full
clamping force.
Never use a hammer or a handcrank extension.
Additional tightening by means of hammer blows or
the like may damage the machine vice.
6. Maintenance
S The vice must be cleaned as required by the
conditions under which it is used.
S Preferably oil the vice whenever it has been used,
but at least after approximately every 40 hours of
operation.
S Always use cutting oil as cleaner .
S Do not grease the guideways -- oil them with acid-
free oil.
S T ype BOF: Grease spindle. Recommended: Röhm
F91, 400g tube, Id.-No. 777021
S Type BSS: Oil the screw spindle with acid-free oil.
Grease the screw spindle bearing -- recommended
grease grade: Röhm F90, 100g tube,
Id.-No. 630869
Do not use compressed air for cleaning purposes.
Whirled-up chips may cause injury to personnel.
Dirt penetrating into guides and the screw spindle
may damage the vice.
T ype BOF: Total clamping range can be covered by
turning the screw spindle
