TRANSITIONAL COLLECTION
Michael Berman
One of America’s leading interior
and home furnishings designers,
Michael Berman creates a look
of timeless style, comfort and
understated
elegance.
Berman has established a
national reputation for interior design
services as well as a comprehensive
line of modern, and purely
American ready-to-use furniture
infused with classicism and film
noir richness. It bespeaks of
restraint, perfect simplicity and
craftsmanship. Berman’s popularity
as a designer is evident from
his client list, which includes
many CEOs and presidents
of Fortune 500 companies.
Berman’s constantly evolving style emphasizes
historic and traditional details in a modern
aesthetic. His coveted furniture line works with
a wide variety of eclectic
tastes and styles. It is
currently available in the
best showrooms in America’s
top ten style capitals.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michael
Berman’s design influences have
come from his love of history,
streamlined modernism
and the art and design of
the 30s and 40s. His early
influences included
American designers Billy Baldwin, Donald
Desky and Dorothy Draper.
In 1981, Berman
marked his entry into the
high-end furniture market.
His tenure with Donghia Furniture Company
allowed for a hands-on education in furniture
production, design proportion, scale and
quality.
In 1986 Berman broke
out on his own and
established his residential
interior design firm, Michael
Berman Limited.
Since then, Michael Berman Limited has
expanded to include a line of fine furniture, an
exclusive line of ceramic tile, custom area rugs
and lighting fixtures.
Traditional Home magazine affirms, “His rooms
are glamorous but not glitzy, vintage in some
respects, yet smartly in tune with the times.”
