relative humidity is up to 80%.
If condensed water exists in a probe it should be
acclimatized before switching on. In some cases
(e.g. probe extremely cold) two hours should be
allowed before the probe is put into operation.

Warranty and Repair
Our instruments are subject to strict quality con-
trols. Prior to leaving the manufacturing site, each
instrument undergoes a 10-hour burn-in test. This
is followed by extensive functional quality testing
to examine all operating modes and to guarantee
compliancewiththespeciedtechnicaldata.The
testing is performed with testing equipment that
is calibrated to national standards. The statutory
warranty provisions shall be governed by the laws
of the country in which the product was purchased.
In case of any complaints, please contact your
supplier.
Any adjustments, replacements of parts, main-
tenance and repair may be carried out only by
authorized technical personnel. Only original
parts may be used for replacing parts relevant to
safety (e.g. power switches, power transformers,
fuses). A safety test must always be performed
after parts relevant to safety have been replaced
(visual inspection, PE conductor test, insulation
resistance measurement, leakage current mea-
surement, functional test). This helps ensure the
continued safety of the product.
The product may only be opened by
authorized and qualied personnel.
Prior to working on the product or
before the product is opened, it must
be disconnected from the AC supply
network. Otherwise, personnel will
be exposed to the risk of an electric
shock.
Important hints
Users are advised to read through these instruc-
tions so that all functions are understood. Imme-
diately after unpacking, the instrument should
be checked for mechanical damage and loose
parts in the interior. If there is transport damage,
the supplier must be informed immediately. The
probes must then not be put into operation
Safety
The probes have been designed and tested in
accor dance with IEC Publication 1010-1, Safe-
ty require ments for electrical equipment for
measurement, control, and laboratory use. The
CENELEC regulations EN 61010-1 correspond
to this standard. They have left the factory in a
safe condition. This instruction manual contains
important information and warnings which have
to be followed by the user to ensure safe operation
and to retain the probes in a safe condition.
Whenever it is likely that protection has been im-
paired, the instrument shall be made inoperative
and be secured against any unintended operati-
on. The protection is likely to be impaired if, for
example, the instrument
shows visible damage,
fails to perform the intended measurements,
has been subjected to prolonged storage under
unfavourable con ditions (e.g. in the open or in
moist environments),
has been subject to severe transport stress
(e.g. in poor packaging).
Basically, it is not permissible to perform mea-
surements on parts that are live above 30V. Since
a signicant part of the measurements are per-
formed on exposed parts, it is a prerequisite that
the user is familiar with any potential electrical
hazard. Under no circumstances may the probes
be used on equipment that is not safety grounded.
When in doubt, a safety isolation transformer
must be used.
Operating conditions
The probes have been designed for indoor use.
The permissible operating temperature is +5 °C
... +40 °C. During transport and storage the tem-
