Laying - remove the backing paper and accurately position the adhesive surface. Start laying at one end and using firm pressure work towards
the other end, without trapping air bubbles. A hard rubber or wooden roller may be of assistance. Should there be any trapped air bubbles,
these can be punctured and pressed down.
Once the SAFE STEP
®
Tapes and Treads are in place, they are immediately ready for use.
Test Patch
As there are so many variables it is impossible to legislate for every eventuality but as a rule of thumb, IF YOU ARE UNSURE, TEST IT!
Routine would be to apply a piece of the SAFE STEP
®
Tape or Tread to a clean, dry surface in a normal traffic area and leave for a
minimum of 7 days - if after this time it is still securely applied, the surface should be satisfactorily compatible.
Edge Sealing
In areas where any liquid or moisture is normally present, e.g. external applications SAFE STEP
®
Edge Sealer should be used to prevent the
possible ingress of fluids around the edges (see separate Technical Data Sheet).
Application
Using the tapered nozzle provided, apply a bead of Edge Sealer around the edges making sure that edge contact is made with both the
substrate and the slip resistant self-adhesive surface. Leave to dry for a minimum of 6 hours before putting into service.
