Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, grease, petrol, waxes and loosely adhered material prior to application of SAFE STEP
®
Tapes
and Treads.
Metal:
Rust and paint should be removed to ensure proper adhesion between the primer and the surface.
Wood:
Should be smooth, sound and dust free.
Concrete and Masonry:
Must be sound and non - crumbling, with no dust or grit present. Very hard ultra smooth surfaces may need to be treated to provide a suitable
key and all concrete should be at least 28 days old.
Application
Use indoors or out on painted wood, painted metal and sealed concrete.
Priming - Porous surfaces e.g. untreated concrete, bare wood, unglazed quarry tiles should be primed with SAFE STEP
®
Strong Bond before
applying the tapes or treads. After priming, a drying time of at least 20 minutes should be allowed prior to laying the tapes.
