3.5.5.3.4 New Message Acknowledgement to ME/TA - +CNMA
+CNMA – New Message Acknowledgement
(PDU Mode)
AT+CNMA [=<n>
[,<length> [<CR>
PUD is given<ctrl-
Z/ESC]]]
Execution command confirms correct reception of a new message (SMS-
DELIVER or SMS-STATUS-REPORT) which is routed directly to the TE.
Acknowledge with +CNMA is possible only if the +CSMS parameter is set to
1(+CSMS=1) when a +CMT or +CDS indication is show.
If no acknowledgement is given within the network timeout, an RP-ERROR
is sent to the network, the <mt> and <ds> parameters of the +CNMI
command are then reset to zero (do not show new message indication).
Either positive (RP-ACK) or negative (RP-ERROR) acknowledgement to the
network is possible.
Parameter:
<n> - Type of acknowledgement in PDU mode
0 : send RP-ACK without PDU (same as TEXT mode)
1 : send RP-ACK with optional PDU message.
2 : send RP-ERROR with optional PDU message.
<length> : Length of the PDU message.
Note : Refer to 3GPP TS 23.040 Recommendation for other PDU negative
acknowledgement codes.
(Text Mode)
AT+CNMA
Only positive acknowledgement to network (RP-ACK) is possible.
(PDU Mode)
AT+CNMA=?
Test command returns the possible range of values for the parameter <n>
