Chapter 11 Reporting diagnostic messages
You can log diagnostic messages using:
• Log files
Choose this method, if you want the diagnostic messages to be
written directly to a text file.
• Microsoft Event Viewer
Choose this method, if you want the diagnostic messages to be
sent to the Windows Log, and viewed in the Event Viewer on
the server computer.
• E-mail
Choose this method, if you want the diagnostic messages to be
sent via e-mail. Your system administrator will be
automatically notified when the server produces diagnostic
messages of a certain type.

To configure the log file:
1. Open the Service Console.
2. Expand Security Services Manager > Administration.
3. Click Configure Diagnostic Logs.
The diagnostic log configuration appears in the right pane of
the window.
