5-2 Serial Converter Module (MDCOMM-232)
5.1.1 Diamond Status Indicator

ATTENTION: If the Serial Con v erter is transmitting control
I/O to the product (indicated by a steady green diamond LED
on the Serial Conv erter), the product may fault when y ou
remove or reset the Serial Conver ter. Determine how your
product will respond before removing or resetting a Serial
Conv erter. F ailure to observe this precaution could result in
bodily injury and/or damage to equipment.

• Securely connect cables.
• Apply power to the product.
• Wait while Flash is in progress.

Converter will not cause a serial fault
in the product.

operating and is or was
transmitting control I/O.
No action required.

Converter may cause a serial fault in
the product.
Flashing
Red
The product has not
acknowledged the
Serial Con verter.
• Securely connect cables.
• Make sure Adapter Cfg (01) is set to
Auto.
Steady
Red
Link failure.
• Securely connect cables.
• Replace the cable.
• Cycle power to the product.
