NOTE
To use the PI JDBC driver, install the PI SQL Data Access Server (page 49)
first.
To install the PI JDBC driver:
1. On your FactoryTalk Historian SE installation DVD, go to
Redist\Advanced Server Options\PIDASSetup\JDBC\.
2. Double-click Setup.exe. The installation wizard appears.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

To install PI Notifications:
1. On your FactoryTalk Historian SE installation DVD, go to
Redist\Advanced Server Options\PI Notifications\.
2. Double-click Setup.exe. The installation wizard appears.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
During the installation, provide the following information:
On the AF Server page, leave the selected AF server or click
Browse, and then navigate to another one you wish to
select.
On the Logon Information page, choose either of the
logon accounts that will be used by the PI Notifications
service:
Option Description
Local System This is the default settings.
Domain User Use this option if you intend to manage and/or
configure the service remotely.
Install JDBC
Install Notifications
