Programming G25 Adaptive Feed
Program a G25 block as follows:
G25 Q__ F__ E__;
X__
Y__
Z__
Where: Programs:
X,Y,or Z Axisendpoint. Programtheendpointofthe axis thatis to be
positioned using the adaptive feed feature. Thisendpointcanbe
programmed aseitheranabsolute orincremental value(G90orG91
mode). You canonly programone axis in an adaptivefeedblock.
Youcan notprogramaxesthatare positionedby more than one servo
(dualordeskewaxes).
Q Desired Torquepercentage. Enteran integerpercentage of the
selected servo’s continuousrated torque as entered in AMP by your
systemin staller. Valid ranges are from1%to150% oftheservo’s
rated torque. Refertoyoursysteminstaller’s documentation for
details on the ratedtorque ofth e servos inyou r system.
Important:Thetorque amountapplied bytheservo isnotthecutting
force. Itisthetorque applied bytheservoto theaxis. You must
calculate theequivalentcuttingforce based on yourmachine
dynamics (motor rated torque,leadscrewpitch,gearing,tool
dimensions, etc...).
F MaximumFeedrate. Enterthemaximumfeedratethatthe axis is
allowedtoreach during the adaptive feed move. ThisF--wordis the
same as the modal feedrateand is used infollowing blocks. Ifyoudo
notprograman F--word the controlwilluse the previouslyactive
feedrate. ProgramtheF--wordin eitherG93,G94,orG95mode.
E MinimumFeedrate. Entertheminimumfeedratethatthe axis is
allowedtoreach during the adaptive feed move. Programthe E -- word
ineitherG93,G94,orG95mode.
You must program the G25 block in G01 mode. Programming G25 in
other c utting modes (such as G00, G02, or G03) will generate an error.
The G25 command is not modal and must be programmed in all blocks
that are to use the adaptive feed feature.
When the adaptive feed move starts, the control issues a command that
moves the axis with the desired torque percentage Q. The system installer
determines in AMP if ACC/DEC is used for the start and stop of an
adaptive feed move. If ACC/DEC is used the control will attempt to ramp
the velocity command to minimize the initial start up and decel shock.
