Chapter 2
Drive Start Up
This chapter describes how to start up the PowerFlex DC drive. If using the LCD
HIM (Human Interface Module) to commission the drive, it is recommended
that you read Appendix B
- HIM Overview before performing these procedures.

ATTENTION: Power must be applied to the drive to perform the following start-
up procedure. Some of the voltages present are at incoming line potential. To
avoid electric shock hazard or damage to equipment, only qualified service
personnel should perform the following procedure. Thoroughly read and
understand the procedure before beginning. If an event does not occur while
performing this procedure, Do Not Proceed. Remove Power including user
supplied control voltages. Correct the malfunction before continuing.
It is recommended that you uncouple the motor from all loads at this time,
until otherwise directed.
