System Requirements

This section describes the components of the basic ControlNet

PLC-5 backup system.

Hardware

• two series F (or later) PLC-5 ControlNet processors (either

1785-L40C15/F or 1785-L80C15/F).

Important: Both processors must be the same series and have

the same firmware revision.

• two 1785-CHBM/A ControlNet backup cartridges (one for each

PLC-5 processor)

• two 1771 chassis (one for each PLC-5 processor)

• two 1771 power supplies (one for each chassis)

• one or more ControlNet I/O adapters (Cat. no. 1794 or 1771)

• ControlNet network cables, taps, and terminators for making

connections between the PLC-5 processors and the I/O

adapters

• a PC with a 1784-KTCX15 card, or a laptop computer with a

1784-PCC card

• other ControlNet devices, including MMI (optional)

Software

• RSLogix 5 programming software (Release 3.22 or later)

• RSNetWorx for ControlNet software (Release 1.80.xx or later)

• RSLinx gateway communication software (Release 2.00.97.30

or later)
