Span Your Valves
Chapter 9
9-61
5. Enable the ejector profile by setting DYC02-B14 (B34/414) to 1.
The ejector should move through its advance and retract stroke. If no
motion, verify that::
- none of your overtravel alarms are set. The QDC module inhibits
ejector profiles if SYS07-B00 through SYS07-B05 are set
- there are no programming error codes in SYS61 and SYS62
6. Upon completion of the ejector profile, observe the velocities
reported for ejector advance and ejector retract segment 1 in EPS09
(N45:181) and EPS33 (N45:205). These velocities should be
relatively close to the setpoints you entered in EPC09 and EPC33
(N45:125, N45:149). If observed velocities are not within 25% of the
setpoints, verify that:
- you chose the correct values from your flow rate curves
- your calculations are correct
If the actual velocities are still not representative of your setpoints, your
flow valve is not linear over the range of your setpoints. Correct as
follows:
If: And Your Selected
Valve is:
Then:
EPS09 was less than EPC09 Direct Acting Increase EAC48 by 5%
Reverse Acting Decrease EAC48 5%
EPS09 was more than EPC09 Direct Acting Decrease EAC48 5%
Reverse Acting Increase EAC48 by 5%
EPS33 was less than EPC33 Direct Acting Increase ERC48 by 5%
Reverse Acting Decrease ERC48 5%
EPS33 was more than EPC33 Direct Acting Decrease ERC48 5%
Reverse Acting Increase ERC48 by 5%
To do this: change EAC48 or ERC48, download the EAC or ERC block,
and repeat steps 4-6. Do this as necessary.
Important: If downloading from your programming terminal, download
EAC or ERC followed by EPC with download bits B21/21 or 22, and 23.
