Monitoring Your Data File
To verify that the output and input data files for the I/O modules have been
created, you can call up data files for the I/O.
1. Press
[F1] – EDT_DAT . The following display appears:
O0:3.0/0 = 0
Address 15 data 0

8 bits
This is file 0, the output data file. It indicates that slot 3 of the controller has
8 bits assigned (representing outputs
O:3/0 through O:3/7 ). (For more
information, see the section concerning “Addressing External I/O” in
chapter 2.)
2. Press
[F2] – NEXT_FL . The following display appears:
I1:1.0/0 = 0

This is file 1, the input data file. It indicates that slot 1 of the controller has 4
bits assigned (representing inputs
I:1/0 through I:1/3), and that slot 2 has 8
bits assigned (representing inputs
I:2/0 through I:2/7).
3. Now press
[ESC] , then [ENTER]. The following display appears. You
are now ready for the next section.
