All I/O modules include line monitoring capability. We recommend that line
monitoring be used for safety-related I/O. Safety-related I/O refers to an
annunciator being available to an input or output attached to a field device. For
energize-to-action (normally de-energized) I/O, you must enable line
monitoring.
