DeviceNet Profile
The IntelliVAC Plus is defined within the “miscellaneous device”
object class; however, extended functions may be required compared
to devices currently included in this class. It will have the following
c apabilities w ith res pec t to DeviceNet:
• Slave operation, with Master (scanner) devices
• Peer-to-peer messaging (Explicit, I/O)
• Explic it Mes s aging
• I/O Messaging (Bit-Strobe, Poll Command/Response, Change of
State/Cyc lic and Multic ast Poll)
• Unconnected Message Manager (UCMM)
Compatibility with IntelliCENTER
The IntelliVAC Plus is c ompatible w ith IntelliCENTER softw are.
This will include the “PCP Object”, as used by t he IntelliCENTER
software to define attributes related to a device.
It shall be possible for IntelliCENTER to properly display the type of
contactor controlled by the IntelliVAC by reading IntelliVAC
parameters.
DeviceNet Communications Loss
With a loss of the DeviceNet communications, the IntelliVAC Plus
module has a selection of two modes to define its operation for
DeviceLogix. To accomplish this, a parameter will be used. This
parameter will have two selectable options: ‘Hold State’ and ‘Reset’.
Selection of the DeviceNet communications loss parameter will be as
follow s:
Select DeviceNet Loss = ‘ ‘Hold State’ or Reset State’
The DeviceNet communications loss parameter will be available on
DeviceNet in the following manner:
DeviceNet Loss = ‘ ‘Hold State’ or ‘Reset State’
Hold State will cause all DeviceLogix outputs to maintain their last
operating state.
Reset State will cause all DeviceLogix outputs to reset to their
default state.
