If an isolation contactor is used, it is preferable that the power factor
capacitors be installed ahead of the isolation contactor if at all
possible (see Figure 5.4). In some installations, this may not be
physically possible and the capacitor bank will have to be connected
to the downstream terminals of the contactor. In this case, th
installer must exercise caution and ensure that the air-core inductance
is sufficient to prevent oscillating voltages from interfering with th
proper performance of the SMC Dialog Plus controller. It may be
necessary to add more loops to the coil.
