Using This Manual
Manual Objectives
The purpose of this manual is to provide you with information needed to
apply the DeviceNet option to the 1329I Integrated Drive/Motor. It
includes methods for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting this
option. Read this manual in its entirety before installing, operating, or
servicing the 1329I Integrated Drive/Motor with a DeviceNet option.
Audience for This Manual
This manual is intended for qualified personnel. To use the DeviceNet
option, you must understand the parameters and functions of the 1329I
Integrated Drive/Motor. You must also understand DeviceNet networks,
including how slave devices operate on the network and communicate with
a master.
Conventions
• Parameter numbers and names are shown in bold typeface and follow the
following format: Parameter XXX - [*]. The XXX represents the
parameter number in the EDS file. The [*] represents the parameter
name. For example, Parameter 01 - [Cmd Frequency].
• Menu commands are shown in bold typeface and follow the format
Menu > Command. For example, if you read “Select File > Open,”
click the File menu and then click the Open command.
• The 1329I Integrated drive/motor is also referred to as “1329I unit” or
“unit.”
• The DeviceNet option is also referred to as “option.”
Firmware Release Number
The convention for identifying firmware releases is as follows:

affect content of this manual.
