Considerations
This section focuses on some considerations
for
installing your Polaris
GENERAL
dash kit. This dash kit
is
designed
to
wo
rk in conjunction with
Rockford's other
GENERAL
specific audio kits and parts.
If you feel unsure
about
insta!ling this system yourself, have
it
insta!led
by a qualified technician.
When drilling holes, make sure
what
is on
the
other
side.
Be
sure
tha
t
any electrical, fuel lines
or
any other
important
components are free
and clear from the area.

negative(-) terminal
to
prevent damage
to
the unit, fire
and/or
possible injury.

Step
1.
Remove the hood and top
of
th
e dash. This will give you
acce
ss
f
or
insta!ling the dash
ki
t and

es.

2. Remove the existing factory dash storage pocket.

3.
Mount the source
unit
to
the new dash beze
l.
Step
4.
Us
ing
the
supplied hardware install
the
back
br
acket behind
the pocket opening attaching
it
to
the
fact
ory
mounting
points leaving
it
loose f
or
adjustments.
Step
5.
Slide the
PMX
wir
e ha
rn
es
s and ch
ass
is through the pocket
op
ening and hole in the back bracket seating t
he
assembly
flush with the front
of
the das
h.
Step
6.
Sec
ure the front bezel
to
the rear bracket
wit
h the supplied
hardware. Adjust
th
e be
ze
l so the source unit is centered
in
the
op
ening and tighten all hardware to
se
cu
re
it in place.
Step 7.
Run
t
he
RED
power wire fr
om
th
e so
ur
ce
unit harness through
th
e grommet in
th
e firewa ll
to
the hood
area
of
the vehicle
and connect
to
the switched terminal on the factory terminal
block.
Step
8.
Disconnect the ground fr
om
the in dash power port below the
radio and
co
nnect
th
e
BL
AC
K ground
wir
e from
th
e source
unit ha
rn
ess
using
th
e attached quick disconne
ct
conn
ec
tor
s.
