If you're using an Xbox 360:
Make sure the wireless receiver is connected to the
Xbox 360 controller using the supplied chat cable. On the
wireless receiver, press firmly, so no part of the silver jack
is showing. This tight connection helps to make sure the
cable does not fall out during gaming.
Try a different Xbox controller.

Friends, Send a Message, then Add Voice. If you can
hear yourself, the chat problem could be a game issue, a
problem on the recipient’s end, or some other variable
not related to the headset.
