Acoustic Mode
Acoustic Mode is intended for persons who are visually impaired. When
Acoustic Mode is turned on, the meter guides the user through the test
-
ing process using beep tones; it also outputs the result as a series of
beeps.
Visually impaired persons need a sighted person to instruct them
in the use of the meter and to assist them with all aspects of its
operation. Visually impaired persons must not test their blood
glucose without assistance from a sighted person.
A separate manual, the User’s Manual for Acoustic Mode, describes
Acoustic Mode and operation of the Accu-Chek Compact Plus meter in
Acoustic Mode. It contains information on beep tones, how and when
the meter uses them, and what they mean. Also contained in the sepa
-
rate User’s Manual are descriptions of the operation of the meter and
lancing device that have been specially adapted to help sighted persons
instruct visually impaired persons in the functions of the meter or super-
vise its use.
The User’s Manual for Acoustic Mode is available in written and spoken
form. Both versions are available through your local customer support
and service centre. Details are given at the end of this User’s Manual.
