10.2 Display messages and troubleshooting
When elements in the display are surrounded by a halo, it indicates that
they are flashing in the meter’s display.
If you receive frequent error messages, please contact your local cus
-
tomer support and service centre (see Chapter 16 “Local customer sup
-
port and service”).
If this happens … it means:
The meter will not turn on. The batteries (normal or recharge-
able) are empty.
Insert batteries (new or recharged).
You inserted the batteries the wrong
way round. Remove the batteries
and place them in the battery com
-
partment as instructed.
If the batteries were left the wrong
way round in the meter for more
than two minutes, the meter forgets
the year, date and time. Re-enter
them (see Chapters 3 “Settings”).
If this happens … it means:
  The surrounding temperature is be-
low 0 °C.
Change location. The temperature
must be between +10 °C and
+40 °C. Allow the meter to warm up
slowly.
  Condensation has affected the elec-
tronics.
Let the meter dry slowly.
  The meter is defective.
Please contact your local customer
support and service centre (see
Chapter 16 “Local customer support
and service”).
