Travel Tips
When traveling, we suggest you take the following
precautions:
1.Ahead of departure, check on availability of medical
care and of insulin/pills, syringes, etc. in the country
you are visiting. Carry prescriptions for these with
you at all times.
2. Consult your healthcare professional about how to
adapt your medication to time zone changes.
3.Take extra insulin/pills along with you.
4. Carry insulin/pills in a case to protect from damage,
and avoid the hazards of theft or loss by keeping
two separate cases.
5. Carry food
(
e.g., cheese, fruit
)
with you at all times.
6. Record any changes in how you feel and the results
of your glucose monitoring in order to assess how
travel affects you.
7.Always carry something that identifies you as having
diabetes.
8.Always carry candy or fast-acting sugar.
